Star Trek Casting News of the Day: It seems Benedict Cumberbatch won’t be content until he’s in every awesome thing ever.
The impossibly British thespian, who is already both Sherlock Holmes and Smaug The Dragon, has just been cast as the main villain in the upcoming sequel to J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot.
Deadline, which broke the news, could not say whether GQ UK’s Actor of the Year would play a hero or a villain, but Variety’s Jeff Sneider confirmed Cumberbatch would in fact be playing the movie’s villain.
Prior to the War Horse star, both Edgar Ramirez and Jordi Molla auditioned for the part. The casting of Cumberbatch presumably puts to rest the rumor that Star Trek 2’s principal antagonist would be Khan Noonien Singh.

To all you fellow Harry Potter fans out there:
The Great Horcrux HuntEight contestants will be chosen via the Book Geek test, paired and sorted to the four (4) houses: Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
The eight contestants will be given a list of clues to find seven Horcruxes hidden within the Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street store premises.
The team that finds the most number of Horcruxes wins.
Game Mechanics:
1. The Great Horcrux Hunt is open to any Harry Potter fan, male or female, age 11 and above.
2. Participants will be asked to register via email. They can begin emailing their complete name, contact number, age, address on July 15, 2011 toadeecaluag@fullybookedonline.com. Registration is considered final. (We will also accept registration up to 12 noon of the day of the Hunt—July 30, 2011).
3. Registered participants will be required to report to the Room of Requirements (the Forum located in the 4/L of Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street) on the day of the Hunt at 1:30 p.m. The trivia contest will begin at promptly 2:00 p.m.
4. On the day of the Hunt, contestants will be subjected to the Harry Potter Book Geek test, which is a trivia contest wherein contestants will answer questions related to Harry Potter, in round robin fashion.
5. The test will take place in the Room of Requirements (the Forum located in the 4/L of Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street)
6. Contestants who fail to answer the first question will be eliminated from the Hunt.
7. The remaining eight (8) contestants automatically become the competitors for the Hunt.
8. The contestants will be paired off and sorted randomly. They will be asked to pick eight badges (two badges per house) from the Sorting Hat, which will determine their house and partner.
9. After sorting, each pair will be given a flag in the color of their respective house, as well as list of clues to find the 7 Horcruxes within the premises of Fully Booked’s flagship store located in Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
10. The contestants will be given 30 minutes to find as many Horcruxes as possible.
11. Once a is Horcrux found, it must be immediately reported and turned over to the marshals situated in the Atrium (G/L) of the store.
12. The pair who finds the highest number of Horcruxes wins.
13. In the event that there is a draw, the two pairs will be asked to locate the Elder Wand. The first pair to find the Elder wand wins.
14. In the event that no Horcruxes are located, a 15-minute extension will be given to all participants. The first pair to locate one Horcrux wins.
